Working Together

Ready to take the first step towards positive change?

To arrange your initial consultation, simply email or the provided contact form. Our first session is a dedicated space to explore what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to move towards or change.

I will work at a pace that feels right for you. You may want the space to talk things through openly, especially if you’ve been carrying a great deal on your own. If you would prefer more guidance, I will gently lead with thoughtful questions to help us understand your background, your current challenges, and what feels most important to focus on. From the beginning, we will start building a clear understanding of your needs and the direction of our work together.

Creating a safe, supportive, and professional environment is central to how I work. A strong therapeutic relationship provides the foundation for meaningful progress, and I am committed to ensuring you feel heard, respected, and at ease throughout the process. Together, we will agree on a structure that feels steady, purposeful, and tailored to you.

At LiveBetter Counselling, I work integratively, drawing on different therapeutic approaches to suit the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. My core model is Person-Centred therapy, offering an empathetic and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings with honesty and self-compassion. As insight develops, so too can confidence, clarity, and lasting change.

I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and can work exclusively within a more structured, goal-focused CBT framework if that feels like the right approach for you.

COGNITIVE-BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) helps you identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviours that may be contributing to your difficulties. By learning practical strategies and techniques, you can develop healthier coping skills and change unhelpful patterns, leading to improved emotional well-being and problem-solving abilities. CBT involves a collaborative approach and a commitment to work between sessions to implement new skills and insights, to help create lasting change.

TRANSACTIONAL ANALYSIS:

Transactional analysis examines the interactions and transactions between individuals, helping you understand your communication style, relationship dynamics, and patterns of behaviour. By gaining insight into your interpersonal relationships and developing effective communication skills, you can improve your relationships and overall satisfaction in life.

PSYCHODYNAMIC THERAPY:

Psychodynamic therapy explores how past experiences and unconscious processes influence your thoughts, feelings, and behaviour. By uncovering underlying patterns and unresolved conflicts, you can gain insight into your current difficulties and work towards healing and personal growth.

Couples Counselling

Relationships can be challenging, but you don't have to navigate them alone. In couples counselling, we'll work together to address common issues such as:

  • Communication breakdowns
  • Conflicts and disagreements
  • Trust issues
  • Intimacy issues
  • Infidelity
  • Parenting disagreements
  • Financial stress

Couples counselling provides a supportive space for you and your partner to explore these issues openly and honestly. Through effective communication techniques, conflict resolution strategies, and exercises to build trust and intimacy, couples therapy can help you and your partner strengthen your bond, improve communication, and build a healthier and more fulfilling relationship.

Clinical Supervision

As a fellow therapist, I understand the importance of supervision in supporting your professional growth and development. Supervision provides a structured and supportive space for reflection, learning, and growth. In supervision sessions, we'll discuss:

  • Your client cases, exploring therapeutic interventions and strategies
  • Ethical and professional dilemmas
  • Personal and professional development goals
  • Challenges and successes in your practice
  • Self care

My style of supervision is collaborative and supportive, where I hope you can feel able to be honest and open, without fear of judgement. My aim is to provide guidance, feedback, and support to help you navigate the complexities and dilemmas of client work and enhance your effectiveness as a therapist.

Together, we'll explore your cases, develop your skills and confidence, and ensure you're providing the best possible care to your clients. Being a therapist can be demanding so it’s important to look after ourselves and supervision is a safe space for us to explore this together.
